Christmas Week

At the end of last week we delivered our final Christmas projects to their new homes. Its nice to be able to focus on my own family for a little while before more projects begin. Don't get me wrong, I love my art, but even artists need a break from time to time.

For the most part we make custom clocks, but sometimes it is nice to look at past projects that we have made. This sign is a custom sign made for a friends wedding gift to her husband. It is one of my favorite pieces because it has such meaning behind it.

To make this I was able to combine my love design and painting with the use of reclaimed wood to create a lasting piece of art.

In school I always found it difficult to choose a type of art that was my favorite because I liked different things about all the methods I learned. Thystle Design has given me the opportunity to combine different types of art into our projects.

The best part of our projects is getting to be creative with the man I have chosen to spend my life with. When I feel stuck or am struggling to figure out placement he comes along and balances me out. He gives me a fresh look at something I have been agonizing about for hours. I can honestly say that he makes me a better artist and person.
